Hi all, firstly it should say NEWBY & thanks for the welcome
Have just started to get birds together as I have been out of finches for a while
I was in Budgies for along time as a breeder, judge & exhibitor.
Finches that I will be breeding are
Gouldians in the three head colours
Red & Blue faced parrot finches
Double Bars
Stars red head
Emblemas
& have a nice pair of Turquoisines
Slowly getting the flights ready for spring
Cheers

Converting from budgies to Gouldians is not too big a change. But the other finches are not so kean on boxs, still no harm in trying some as every now and then we get a surprise.

I guessed you would chiefly use flights. But if you have nest boxs from your budgie breeding cabinets could put some into the avairys for the Gouldians. PS I grew up with an avid budgie breeder, who after 55 yrs still intends to trot off to Queensland for next years Nationals. (my mum)

Hi LML, that's great about your mum....the budgies are certainly addictive.
Watched the Tassie Nationals online...some very nice birds benched.
Will be making all new nest boxes for the Gouldian's & others.
Setting up for breeding Mealworms this week as well....see how I go
Cheers
