Very true but not towards the young, most of my cock birds show aggression towards the hen and wont let her feed the young even though she tries her hardest to do so.She usually gives up and leaves the feeding to the cock bird whilst she goes back to nest.
Once the young are seen to be feeding themselves remove them to a holding cage and the cock will resume nesting duties with the hen. Cheers Craig

Good work.

That was a very good result in a short time frame.

Cheers guys! I have to admit I was forced to remove the other inhabitants of the aviary as soon as the young came out (4 red broweds) as the cock birds temperament changed instantly  but to be fair its the first bit of aggression I have seen from him. He has already whipped up another nest with both him and the hen already having bent tails meaning they have been spending some time in there already but are still being diligent parents when it comes to the young... Seems like a got a pretty good pair haha.

Lets hope I got 3 hens.... now I'm just being selfish haha.

I'm picking up my first Crimsons this week and was wandering what works for you guys. Any tips in regards to aviary size, layout and diet would be greatly appreciated! Thanks once again
Where did you manage to find a pair of the bloods?
