That's very unusual but considering they like very small nest sites that's the perfect spot for them and still box shaped except the roof area. They also prefer smaller boxes than say gouldians and with a half open entry to it not a round hole.

Would not mind getting a lady or 2 to see if my boys are still up for it. Should be, they are only 4 1/2 Mine used to use any wooden box with an open section not hole. So I concur with Craig on the type of entry, but found the box size did not matter to mine. Sometimes it was the biggest box sometimes the smallest. Looking forward to the pics when the babies fledge.
