Yellow Gouldians, what is everyones pairings with the Yellows?
Yellow to Yellow or
Yellow to Dilute Cock or Single Factor which ever you want it to be.
I am guessing Yellow to Yellow is like Blue to Blue shouldnt do it, other than people doing it for the $$$$$.

good topic!!

i think yellow to yellow is nowhere as bad as blue to blue, but it is always good to out cross to a normal gould to strengthen certain features of the bird.

i haven't breed many yellows in the past, but this yr i am trying a couple of pairings,

they are......

RH/PB/ SFY (dilute) cock x RH/PB/SFY HEN

BH/PB/GB cock x BH/PB/SFY HEN -----had a BH/PB/SFY COCKto pair with her but he escaped the other week!! SPEWING!!!!!

YH/PB/SFY (dilute) cock x YH/PB/GB HEN

YH/PB/DFY cock x YH/PB/SFY HEN

and iv got a RH/PB/DFY COCK as a spare to place in an aviary or cage if pairs ain't working.

got these pairs in my breeding cages/cabinets!

I'm doing the same thing as Misso :D , putting a RH/WB/DFY cock to a RH/WB/GB hen. Doing this for 2 reasons: a) Was talking to an old breeder and he said if you put a yellow to a norm the colors will be stronger. b) I'm having real trouble finding a RH/WB/YB hen.
Keeping: fresh air 😅

Most of mine are yellow to green all white breast. My personal thoughts are they will be stronger birds.I have a couple yellow to yellow aswell they dont breed as much. And also some yellow to yellow purple breast posible split to blue together.

As I have only one yellow Gouldian, don't have a big choice in the matter.
YH/PB/YB cock to YH/PB/GB hen, let him have his choice of the girls I got from Chris, then sorted the rest.

One of my pairs last year was a DF Yellow/Blue cock x Silver hen - which equals DF Yellow x Yellow.

I got some of my largest, best birds from this pairing, including this male - an OH/BH, Purple/White or Lilac, DF Yellow/Blue

That all sounds good so far. I have an aviary run with
2 x YH,PB,YB Cocks
1 x YH,PB,YB Hen
1 x RH,PB,YB Cock
1 x RH,PB,YB DF Cock
1 x RH,PB,GB Hen
1 x YH,PB,GB Hen
The DF Cock has paired with a GB Hen i think
YH Cock has paired with RH,YB Hen and are on 5 eggs
The rest i dont know.
In 2 other seperate runs pairings i have are
RH,PB,GB Cock to BH,PB,YB Hen or Grey Head

RH,WB,YB Cock to BH,WB,YB Hen or Grey Head
With this pairing thats all i had left lost 1 or 2 i had ready last year.
So dRAG_jUNKIE out of this pairings i should get all RHs if they go for me still havnt done anything. So if you cant find anything at the end of the year and they breed you know where you can get one.
