Hi There!

Welcome back to the Aussie Finch Forum newsletter!

In our last edition—way back in July—we said that spring was right around the corner. Now, we're a day from Summer, and many of us are still waiting for spring!

The unusually cold and wet weather has wrecked havoc on many finch breeders in the country's south-east, where flooding, cold snaps and storms have resulted in one of the worst breeding seasons in years. Thanfully, it looks like a mild start to summer will give the birds another solid shot at breeding.

Finally, the AFF family mourns the passing of a stalwart member. E Orix (aka David Holmes) sadly passed away in September.

David was one of the forum's earliest members, one of our moderators, a pioneer aviculturalist noted for his work with weaver husbandry, and an all around wonderful personal. The AFF team extends our condolences to David's family at this difficult time.
