I agree tairis, the nominate white rump is already considerably chocolate, so plenty get sold as Chocs.

There will always be colour variations either at the individual or localised population level. I think that consignment trapped near Tenterfield in about 1970 may have been just that, though I've never seen a photo of those originals. In any case, it was a long time ago so its probably all academic these days............ unless someone has kept a population isolated since at least the early 80's (or pinched some from the big aviary more recently).

What we have now are probably intergrades at best.

Anyway, I still like mine :mrgreen:

Last ones I knew of were remnants from wildcaught stock from the Inverell/Ashford/Warialda area & haven't heard of any in the wild still in this zone in recent years. This was the localised wild range for Chocs & it appears they are extinct (or very close to it).
