Pretty bossy/interfering, but they're a beautiful finch.

Covered flight and well drained floor........and keep the Baycox handy ;-) . Alot of coastal (humid climate) people have struggled to keep them successfully.......too early to tell for me yet. Its the same story for most grassfinches in captivity......dry climates are generally more successful.

Mine smash the live food when feeding young....I use termites.....twice a day at the mo.

Pretty hard to sex but the boys will sing......and have a (more) silver/white head.....I've given up on bib size/shape as a sexing guide.

Are yours white rumped (Parsons) or Black Rumped (Diggles)?

Watch out for pintails and colour on the beak.......sure fire sign of longtail blood mixed in

Combination of brush, nestboxes and wire cyliniders.............

Mine have been frustrating.......nest building and egg laying  .............things seemed to have stabilised (and materialised :D ) this season

Great to keep a small flock, their socials are funny.....But I'm just starting to run some pairs in individual flights........not sure how it'll go but I think it might reduce the amount of interfering and let them stay focussed

Good choice

sorry, you secured yourself...? no problem G, I'll bring them to you when I'm next down :D
I can hear them now... pretty noisy buggers!
They are white rumps, completely black beaks and no sign of pintails, also perfect parson body shape (stockier than my old longtails) with nice triangular bibs.

Send someone else off with cash, cage and list. The perfect way to secure a pair or two.
