I was lucky enough to breed a spare hen crimson hen last season and have yet to offload it. It's been in an aviary with a 3 y.o pair who are preparing to breed and are not showing any major signs of aggression. Am I better of keeping it and hoping that both hens go down or selling her and freeing up the space?

I would remove the second hen and either keep her as a spare, get another cock as the first pr is getting older and cocks are easy to get if you have room for two pr in separate aviaries. Lastly if theres no room and you wish to keep the older pr sell the young hen.I have always found that single pairs in mixed aviaries do better. The hens are less trouble then two cocks together but if you only have one pr do you want to risk it ? If you had a big aviary this may help but both hens may want the company of the cock.
