Is there much of a difference between the WA and the Qld Crimson Finch? Although I have never seem one, I presume that the WA Crimson would be much brighter? Surely by now after all these years since the end of trapping, all Crimsons kept domestically would have been mixed and there is no "true" WA or Qld Crimson Finch?

WA ones are brighter more scarlet red compared to the more maroonish Qld ones. WA have black cap, QLD ones grey. WA ones more yellowish legs, QLD ones pinker. Qld ones also show a slightly blue tint to the base of the lower mandible as in White-bellied. Qld ones generally less aggressive but no shrinking violets.

The WA birds appear to be more aggressive than the Qld birds. Visually the Qld birds have a lighter colour of grey around the head neck area and the WA are black in colour. Google has some excellent photos.
