hi . i was just wondering who is keeping crimson/ blood finches and how they are keeping them either in a colony or single pairs and if there are any other inhabitants are in there in there ie other finches or parrots...... also the size aviary there kept in .....pete

Hey Pete i saw a single pair in a suspended avairy today, the size would be 1800 long and 900 high and wide, it seems to work for him

Pete,I have a new pair in a 1.2x6x2.1m aviary,with 5 mask finches.
1pr in a 1.2x6x2.1m aviary with apr of we mask and a pr of red head gouldians.
1pr plus two extra cocks in a 2.4x6x2.1m aviary with two pr of we mask,a pr of pictorellas and a pr of gouldians.
i have spare cocks aswell with various finches which i may put in with the other prs soon.
I am still looking for a couple more hens or prs.

not at all pete,although the new pr have not been tried with any red birds yet.the previous owner said they were ok.even the cocks together are not to bad.the only thing is the paired cock does not like another crimson cock sitting beside the hen.I have heard they can be very aggressive,i think it depends on the strain?
