old post i know were in the wild s of auss would i see these birds in ther natural enviroment and what month would be best to go .cheers trev

These particular photos were taken in Kunanarra W.A. I may go back and look for that pied crimson to see if its still about or maybe more now.

You can see Crimsons in the NT , places like Fog Dam and Timber Creek, the top of WA -Kunanarra. Generally the birds are found along water courses in Pandanas. Best time to go is June -July , thats dry season and comfortable (glorious)weather. End of April ,beginning of May if you want to cast a lure around for a Barra whilst searching for Crimson Finches. :thumbup:
