Finally got my pair of bloods today :D :D after waiting what seemed for ever, I will be building a new holding aviary this month, the old holding aviary is 1.2m x 2.4m x 2m, can i have a pair of bloods, RC Cordons, normal mask and maybe one other (some sort of parrot finch) in this cage ?, would the red cheek on the cordon be a problem ?, i could let them loose in the large cage 6m x 4m. Today i seen 4 or 5 pair of Crimson finches keep in a mixed aviary, the aviary was about the same size as my large cage, is there any finches they won't mix with ?.
cheers Anthony

Crimsons are a very mixed bunch. some will kill anything in sight, some are peaceful. try it out with a zebra to test your pair.
If they are nice, a mixed collection should be OK, but just to be safe avoid red species like stars, ruddies etc.
EDIT
in regards to the cordon, probably not but again keep a close watch.
I would advise agains Red aced parrot finches for such an aviary.

Congrats on the "bloods?" ( even though I don't have a clue after all these years what they might be) As for the aviary, assuming that the floorspace is 1.2 x 2.4, that would allow for three pairs of birds from where I am sitting. Some others might think otherwise but I always allow for and advocate one pair of birds per square meter. It is easy to overstock, to show restraint is the hard part. And since I don't know what bloods are I will wait to hear back to see what might be compatibe with them. cheers, Case
