Just got a 'pair' of diamonds, and I'm really hoping they aren't the same!
Anyone want to have a crack at sexing them?
Here are some pics. They're a bit wet, so the feathers are a little out of place near the breast band, but one of them had a "corner" and one had a "flat" bar (if that makes sense... I remembered it from the sexing topic)

Matt (another canberra forum member) told me the best way to tell is the beak when they colour. They aren't coloured, but there's a little bit of difference (one is reddish and the other is more purplish)

Apologies for average pics

I'd say you'd be right there Jay, the beak, as well as the larger white eyebrow, & the extensive white cheeks on the top bird. Put them side by side & they stand out like the proverbial dogs Jatz crackers.

Agree with others that they look to be a PROBABLE pair. I tend to get Diamonds DNA sexed to be sure.
I was told Curtin has a special on at the moment - $8 a finch - I've not used Curtin so can't say if you have to get a certain number done.

Awesome, thanks Sam! I might do that then, I have a few to get done (and I can probably find more within the finch club too), I'll look them up :D

It was an AFF member - Finchman - he had a text from Curtin on his phone. Maybe PM him for the details.

Oops - user name is Finchman1 NOT Finchman
