Thank you @Tiaris. You can see a little feathers out of place near the neck/ back - caught my known male diamond chasing him(?) around today and attacking him

must agree with Tiaris's summary...
place a male/female close together like your excellent pic and the beak colour difference and eye ring will expose itself.

except for the mention of "maroon" :wtf: :wtf:
