I found someone selling gouldians on facebook and he had pictures with bright yellow headed gouldians and blue head gouldians I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard or seen of these and whether or not there hybrids or real

I'm not that good with Gouldian Mutations, but I have seen the 'blue headed' colours, but I have not seen the safety yellow coloured heads, might be a lack of sunlight, I'm not sure, there are plenty of Gouldian mutation experts on the forum

Half of those pictures I have seen before. Some of them I suspect of being lifted off this forum. Suggest you have a good look through the posts under Gouldian on this site to see if you too recognise any of the pics. Googling Gouldian and looking at the pics will probably bring up some of them then you can click on them and see their original source. Does this person actually say these are their birds? Yes they are real. But not common.

Agree with FB, i have most of those pics stolen from fb. I have kept and bred most of those mutations many years ago.

The bright yellow head is produced with the addition of the white breast which dilutes most body colours.

The blue headed looking bird is just a black headed single factor Euro yellow and again being SF can make some black headed birds look a bluey colour.

The other two are WB blue and purple breast blue backed gouldians that also goes to show the difference in WB and PB colour changes in the body.

Thank you craig I was sorta wondering what it was becouse on this forum I had seen people talk about the blue headed gouldian but I had never seen such a bright yellow it sorta confused me and might of had me a tad bit exited it's such a gorgeous yellow and I had never seen it before then

But if this seller is stealing other people's photos, would you trust him ?

Yes a photo would be nice, but unless it is a single factor Euro yellow it would be very rare.
