Short video longtailed grass finch building a nest - just on the out shirts of the walking track around lake jabiru n,t. the nest or part of was positioned in a pandanus palm tree approx. 6 metres off the ground which was a bit of a surprise to me when there was so much lower cover around the 2 metres mark to build in.
I was probably watching for 10 minutes or more and it actually turned into a bit of a fight between another party of longtails nesting in the same palm tree. the palm was split into three high fonds/hands whatever. theses pair had the right side and the other pair the left. later I will include still shots and show the palm in question
