Our pair of Stars have just fledged two young, the hen now spends all of her time attacking and pecking the male and stops him each time he tries to feed the young. I removed her for 24hrs and the male fed the young no problems.I put the hen back in and she went back to her previous behaviour. Any Ideas?
Cheers Greg.

Never had stars myself, but it were any of the finches I have I would give the hen some solitary rest and relaxation while the cock bird brought up the young stars. Wont do any of them any harm. Once the young had weaned then I would consider putting the hen back, but keep an eye on her and her attitude to the cock bird.
