have always wanted a pair, for interest sake, what would a pair of last season young be worth? they are a bueatiful bird that i would love to have

Recent ads suggest that will buy you the hen, then you can save up for a cock. Unfortunately there is a very recent trend in these oriental songbirds that the cocks are being bought up by rich 'songbird' enthusiasts at ridiculous prices, leaving a glut of hens and less breeding taking place. I know of individuals that have purchased pairs, then resold the male at twice the pair cost. This is particularly evident in magpie robins but pekins are also being affected.

If any of those people have an unwanted, spare hen that they want to get rid of, I'll take it off their hands. :shifty:

id love a pair but i think ill need to sell a lot of birds to make up those funds, you never know one day

Most definately the latter - the offer of a quick big buck has taken priority in some collections
