Sexing goldfinches.

I noticed the species profile doesn't cover sexing goldfinches.
Here are some bad photos of mine:

The red mask is brighter and bigger in the cock, and extends behind the eyes.
He is also singing, which helps...

The bird in the better photo in the species profile is a hen.

I will try to get better photos on a sunny day.

Well done on your second attempt you can really see the difference with the amount of black whiskers around the beak.Also points for taking initiative for info on sexing these birds on aussie finch forum.I have this link that is very thorough,check it out.
