Description:
Adult - The top of the head, cheeks and wings are an olive green colour. The throat is pale yellow. Chest and underside of the body is a yellow, a dull yellow in the hens and much brighter on the cock birds. The beak is red.
Juveniles - Tend to be a dull olive green colour over the whole body. When they first leave the nest there are noticeable tufts of white on the top of the head


Sexing:
The overall colouring of the cock bird is much brighter than that of the hen. The breast area of the cock bird is usually a bright orange compared to the hen’s dull/pale yellow.
The cock birds have a red stripe above the eyes. Hens are smaller in size than the cocks.
