Looking for thoughts on what to mix with a pair of red siskins? Pros cons etc

I like-
Cordons
Melbas
Pictorella
Painteds
Masks

Aviary will be 3m L x 1.5m W x 2.2 H, thinking of mixing 2-3 PR. I will have holding aviary for young.

Don't know about the others but painteds do very well and don't bother anyone.

My thoughts, Pictorella, painteds and masks. The other two could be aggressive and food/livefood hogs. These three like the lower part of the aviary to nest as well so not competing for nesting sites. imo Craig

Painteds & Pictorellas would be good mixers. Cordons would be ok too. The siskins are not likely to compete for livefood - greens are their main priority.
Melbas may be a little boisterous & Masked juveniles can be a nest intrusion risk esp in such a confined space.

Cheers for the feedback.

Is the only concern for cordons is that they will compete for similar nesting areas?

I have mixed siskins & cordons many times without seeing any competition for anything. They have totally different diet & don't use the same nesting materials - no dramas at all. They even nest in different parts of brush - Siskins right down in the forks & Cordons further out.
With Red Siskins I would mainly consider to minimise putting other greenfood hogs with them (eg RFPF, Nuns, etc) or other serinus/carduelis species. Other than that, I'd keep pair numbers on the lower side.
They are very good mixers but don't do well if they have to muscle in to get their fair share of what they need.
