There is an autosomal recessive black-eyed yellow in some collections of Tri-coloured PF here but they are very weak birds & not worth establishing IMO. I bred a few of them a few years ago but none survived until adulthood. I know a couple of other breeders who have bred them & experienced the same softness.
Yes, someone could cross the lutino Blue-faced with Tri-coloured & get it into them that way if they thought it was a worthwhile thing to do. I certainly think it would be a waste of good birds & would produce extra hybrids in the process. The lutino Blue-faced (at least in Australia) is still quite a weak mutation with common eye and feather problems which would only translate to any other species with which it is hybridised.
Lutino Red faced parot finch??

But producing this kind of birds, would result in infertile birds, correct?Tiaris wrote:There is an autosomal recessive black-eyed yellow in some collections of Tri-coloured PF here but they are very weak birds & not worth establishing IMO. My question is if this mutation exists in the species and not by hybridition.

Hoi Ger.
just translated your last sentence on the forum entry is it sounds too Double Dutch and most won't be able to understand it.
"You cannot even buy a pair in Europe at the moment, they don't want any competition."
Dus geen concurentie/competition.
