Hello
I recently bought 2 pairs RFPF on the way here 1 male died. So i was wondering if bouth the females wil breed with only the one male.? And perhaps wil it be better to get a new male?

Hi Hannes,i'm pretty sure one cock would put two hens down but it could become a bit of a hassel when all young hatch and need to be fed.The other problem is,when either hen leaves the nest the cock bird might harass it by wanting to mate with it and it might not get back to the nest but this is more so with Blueface parrot finches.IMO,buy another cock

Thanks craig. Would you advise me putting the different pairs in separate cages or house the 2 pairs in the same cage?

If you can,they would breed better separately.
