Well, the pair I had set aside for myself turned out to be m & f. But ... now the parent birds are producing those bloody awful SEA GREEN things! So much for being 'pure normals'. Back to the drawing board!!!!

I have to admit to thinking the sea green are not a pinch on the true red face. But everyone to their own. So if you don;t like them sell the impure parents and keep the young that look pure and try again. Not all will have got the split gene.

in a sense I agree with both ben and finchbreeder... I love them, but yes they're not a patch on normals. Mum hates them too
