I wouldn't say the most gentle parrot, the neophemas are much more compatible than them and are seen commonly in finch aviaries across the country.

Even if they were the most placid parrot in the world I still wouldn't put them with Finches.
The size difference is just too much. Successful aviaries are ones that house a compatible
group of birds, not including birds several sizes bigger than others.
If you house bigger species in a collection don't complain if your breeding numbers drop away.

E Orix, I understand where you are going, but as I have said I have scratched out putting them with finches and now I am asking if they can be put with doves
Thanks

The comment wasn't directed at you I was generalising.
As for doves, similar size, less chance of stress and generally inhabit areas of
an aviary different to the Plum Heads.
Plum Heads are a lovely specie and well worth considering.(spoken by a finch person!!)

Sorry, pardon me, my mistake
I think I will mix them in with my Ringneck doves
I don't breed my doves anymore for reasons so I think I may as well not waste the space and make use of it
Thanks

Plum-heads can get aggressive during the breed season. I've known of a hen killing a scarlet parrot hen that was foolish enough to poke her head into the plum head's nest box.

That being said, I housed my old plum heads with a pair of canaries. The two species bred side-by-side, without incident, for four years.
