I have two of them.one has a bit bigger eyering.but they both nest and they clean each other.one is certainly a hen, but the other one nests as well and does not bow coo and makes wierd sound compare to the hen.

My question is:
Does male nest at all?
At what age do they start bowcooing?

They both share Incubation

I have had them start cooing from 3 months and breeding at 4 months

Male generally have big bright orange eye rings Compared to hens.

Another If have eggs take to dark place and shine light through to see if clear or have embryo/veins inside

Haha if you've got two females I've got two males, happy to swap to make up pairs .....mine were young when I got them and the eye rings hadn't developed properly, one started cooing etc then a couple of weeks later the other started too. SO annoying!

thank you for meeting today, I put the girl in the aviary (yes I should have quarantined but my boy seemed lonely and I was feeling slack :( ) the boy I kept was head bobbing to her within 30 seconds and jumping on her within a minute lol.....makes a change from his old partner where they were constantly swapping lol. Hope the boy settled in as quickly at your place :)

If you have a pair you will also notice that the male is more silver gray, and the female more brown gray. The bigger and redder the eye ring the older the cock.

Bit hard as the light is different in each pic, and the eye rings all look the same. On feather colour I would hazzard that possibly those in the right hand pics are male and those in the left hand female. But it may just be the lighting.

The male will also sit in the nest and coo, basically trying to show the hen where to nest

The male will also coo next to her then jump on her multiple times before he does the final deed
