I have just bought some birds from a fellow selling off all his birds. Among them was a male Diamond Dove he is in a 10 mtr long aviary. Should I get him a female and will he disturb the finches. Thanks you for any advice on the dove.

Go ahead get him a Female, Diamond Doves are very peace loving and do not annoy anything. I do know that they are quite prolific breeders
and could take over the aviary in no time at all.

They are very quiet however we did find they were easily disturbed in the evenings and had a tendency to flap around the top of the aviary. At times they tended to land in the brush where the finches were roosting or nesting, in turn disturbing them. Depends on your set up. They are such a pretty little bird however with lovely call.

To stop them over taking the aviary I pin prick the eggs so they sit on them and not over breed.
