Balck Swans and Queensland

I had a friend of a friend from Cairns who has a Barra farm. Anyways he wanting to know if Black Swans could be legally kept in Queensland. If yes would anyone have any contacts for these?

I'm not sure if the word "kept" is the right terminology. For a wildlife park it may be so but all of the birds, especially the waterbirds will stay if the food source is consistent and protection from predators is ok. If your mate has a barra farm and wants to make it a family friendly place which I think is what you mean then providing the open areas where ducks, coots, waterhens get a free feed will attract the swans. They really are too big to handle. Given the location of Cairns and the seasons I don't think you can "keep" blacks swans because of their migratory habits.

Yes, Black Swans are on the standard recreational list and are readily available. PM me for some contacts.
