Mother Nature has chanced her arm again and is now into breeding hybrids; and . . 'triple-hybrids' at that

Now that is interesting Arthur but will it reproduce again due fertility and will it replicate its self, i fear not unless it mates with another triple visual bird. If it mates with any of the other original species it should produce young closer looking to them due to their extra genes to the progeny. Craig

I guess there would be at least some (more likely very very many) new localised variations, sub-species & ultimately new species which originated from at least two similar species initially cross-breeding then passing on various features which enhanced survival rates within their habitat to become a new "evolved" form.
A relatively recent/current example in the finch world I can think of is the natural (and captive) hybrid between the yellow-winged Pytilia and the Aurora where their natural ranges intersect resulting in the red-faced red-winged Pytilia.
