Where did all our native finches originate?

Ray Ackroyd knows and will be presenting at Wednesday's FSA meeting (11/3/15 7.30pm Brenan Park Hall, Smithfield). Ray’s expert knowledge of our finch species habits and habitats enabled him to be one of Australia’s most successful trappers and bird guides. In this presentation Ray will describe video footage of many of our finch species in their natural habitat including tips on how to locate particular species - including Gouldians.

Ray is also well known as a dealer and breeder of many rarer native and exotic parrots.

Everyone is invited and are most welcome to attend.

Regards,
Sam
FSA President

What video?
Ray has agreed to be videoed so yes it will be on YouTube in due course.

Ray is a great speaker. It should be fantastic with a touch of controversy. Some of his recent footage shows heaps of wild Gouldians that are not supposed to officially exist.

It was a terrific presentation on Wednesday evening by Ray. It will be very interesting to see the discussion/reactions resulting from Ray's comments and observations regarding wild Gouldian numbers. Ray has been observing them in the wilds of NT/WA for around 60 years.

Unfortunately we had huge storms across Sydney on Wednesday evening so attendance was down to just under 40. The video is nearly ready to upload to YouTube. It is well over an hour so will take overnight to upload. I'll post when it's ready to view.
