Is it worth doing the same for the mutations section - ie getting rid of it all together and moving the posts across to the species as relevant. That way all the relevant information would be together (for example there are multiple threads on Gouldian genetics and genotypes). This might even be best as a sub-forum of the species sub-forum.

the mutations area is being considered for a change or two, but that is down the track a bit.
