8pm (doors open 7pm) at Morningside School of Arts Hall, Cnr Wynnum & Thynne Roads, Morningside, Brisbane.
Guest Speaker
Dr. Bob Doneley (Qld)
"Finches in Health and Disease"
Bob Doneley is well known in avicultural circles. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 1982, and worked in veterinary practices in Bundaberg, Brisbane, Toowoomba and the UK, before opening his own practice, the West Toowoomba Veterinary Surgery, in Toowoomba in 1988. He is now with University of Queensland at Gatton. Bob developed his interest in bird medicine shortly after graduation when he was asked to give a talk to the Bundaberg Budgerigar Association, and realised that he had been taught virtually nothing on this subject while a student. He was awarded his Fellowship (FACVSc) in 2003 and was registered as Queensland’s first specialist in bird medicine. He now lectures to numerous veterinary students on bird and exotic animal medicine and has published two textbooks on bird medicine.
Bob’s presentation will draw on his long experience in avian medicine and should be highly informative
