My turn!
I'm no grammar guru - so phrased as questions rather than statements of fact.
1. Should it be "finches or softbills"? The use of "and" means only those who are lovers of both are welcome - "or" encompasses either and both.
2. Is a comma (or perhaps a semicolon) required before such as?
3. Should it be monthly newsletters (plural)?
4. Should there be an apostrophe after species?
5. Why does G'day have a capital?
But honestly, the banner is fine as it is.

i think one could argue the word "or" could also be interpreted the same - as implying that it is only welcomes finch lovers or softbill lovers, but not lovers of both. both ways work fine, but "and" sounds best. ;)

I'll have to send a link to this thread to some of my old English teacher mates. They wont believe it! Mind you, I suspect they'd find a few more errors.

I agree "and" sounds better. I'm a Maths nerd, so I instinctively think of "and" and "or" in the logical (Boolean) sense. Or a compromise - what about "and/or"?
