Let me be the first to congratulate Mattym on a superb and informative newsletter. Lots of stuff I didn't know and great to see his aviary. I'm a bit curious about the apparent lack of shelter though. How do you keep the seed dry?

I was thinking exactly the same thing. What a comprehensive treat Matthew's pieces were!

Which part of Australia are those aviaries?

Thank you tint and others for kind comments.

The pictured aviary is my (stalled) current construction, there will be two sheltered walls on the framed section after the roof goes on. The pictured birds are in my current large aviary, the roof of which is barely visible behind the hedge and to the left on the view marked 'front'. There are two substantial covered areas, each of about 10 sq. m.

You see, the other night I had a small conniption while trying to illustrate the profile. I was almost rendered insane by Microsoft, when Blue butterfly kindly took receipt of a zipped folder of photos and illustrated it for me (good job, BB, cheers). There are photos of the existing aviaries amongst them, which I can't post until tomorrow night when I get home, but you can see what I mean...

Glad it was enjoyed.
