Welcome to the forum. Do your pairs each have a small aviary to themselves? Or are they all in together?

Currently they are all together but am currently converting a large old book case into 4 individual cages.

All in together is fine for non breeding time with no nests but at breeding time you have the problem of them "partner swapping" Hope it is a large bookcase as a pair needs a breeding cage of 35 deep x 40 high x 45 long minimum. Enjoy.

Thanks for the info. There are currently no nest boxes in the current aviary. Yes, the book case is 2m high 1.2 wide and 40 deep. Used to be in my office but have since upgraded so was no longer used.
I intend to pair them up in the breeding season, around mid January correct?

Just a suggestion. Turn the bookcase on it's side and put legs on. Then the cages will be 1mt long and 600 high. Length is more important than height in breeding cages. And this will give you great sized cages. Oppinions on when to pair differ, and are affected by location. So best someone closer to home advises you on that.

Hi and WELCOME, Matt.
Some people use Australia Day as their annual reminder....some like to hold back a few more weeks until early February.

I have read a lot of people use Australia day to kick it off but just wanted to confirm. Cheers for that.
