G'day
I'm starting again after having been out of these birds for many years. I am hoping to enter the world of lovebirds and foreign finches.
I've just joined our avicultural society and making myself known. Hoping to obtain some birds in the next two weeks.

Welcome to the forum. As you are a recycled birdo and not a beginner, I assume you know not to let these two types of birds get close enough for one to remove the legs of the other. Enjoy your return to this great hobby.

G'day mate, great to have another South Aussie on board, we need more of us. I breed all sorts of RFPF's so if you are looking for anything I might be able to help.
Cheers, Deegs.

Hello and welcome. I'll echo what deegs said in that it's great to see another Adelaidean here.

Best of luck with your return to keeping birds. Lovebirds are fantastic. Sadly it's incredibly difficult to get pure (non-hybrid) masked and fischer's in SA, which is primarily why I got out of them.

It's hard to get pure anything anywhere in lovebirds. Recently I was in a pet shop (pop in on the offchance regularly) and a lass is looking to buy a friend for her young lovebird, shop girl happy to sell her any pretty lovebird. Stuck my bib in asking about which type she had and wound up educating both girls in the different types of lovebirds to the best of my abbility. The intending buyer is now going to not mix types and the shop girl is delighted to have further knowledge to pass on to future buyers. win win
