Hello everyone
I am a new member just joined from Victoria. I have some finches, canaries and cockatiels and am very much learning as I go.The birds give me lots of pleasure and I am having some successes with breeding my birds, which is very exciting. I am very "space challenged" but yhe bords are on my north facing veranda close to my windows so I ger to watch a lot of what is going on in the aviaries! It's great
Thanks, always hoping to learn more

WELCOME chooken39. It's good that you are enjoying your birds so much... the forum has much to offer in helping you gain the necessary skills to achieve great results. I am another 'space challenged' hobbyist...the secret is to limit the number of species that you keep together and avoid over-crowding regardless of the mix.
Too many conflicts lower the harmony in the aviary and present unwanted problems for the birds, and their keeper.
Enjoy the forum and your finches...

Hi there, welcome to the forum.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
I have 4 aviaries none of which are very big in size. The advice is welcome regarding overcrowding it is so tempting to have a go at many!!! But so far I have stayed with my gouldians and orange breasts, I have just recently added some red faced parrot finches and think that is more than enough in my small sized aviary. I have had some help along the way thankfully and that has meant more success with breeding the gouldians.
I am a member of our local bird club and that has been fantastic from the learning point of view but also in the beginning of new and great friendships.
better go I work full time so the weekend is crammed with things to do!!
Thanks again
