Hi there - long time ‘lurker’ but first time poster. I started off keeping birds about 4 years ago with two rescue cockatiels. Bird people seem to find each other, as I soon got chatting with my neighbour and discovered his huge Gouldian collection. The addiction began. I have now been keeping Australian finches for about 3 years, with a focus on Kimberley grassfinches: so far star finches, Black-rumped double bars and Gouldians mostly wild-type green-backs all head colours, but also easing into mutations with red-headed yellow-backs and red-headed white-chesteds. I haven’t been able to get to deeply involved in finches until recently due to ongoing illness, but now am I am looking forward to learning more about finch health, nutrition, enrichment and breeding. See you around
