Hi, my name’s Mark and I’ve just joined this site again. I have beautiful Gouldian Finches ... about 50 atm. I live in Emerald Beach on the North Coast of NSW. I’m looking to learn more about my birds and the breeding process ... so hopefully I can read and learn from all the experienced breeders on here.
Cheers.

Thanks everyone for your warm welcomes. I’m sure I will enjoy being here and gaining a better understanding of my birds.
In answer to your question Rod_L I’ve been a budgie breeder for a few years now but have been slowly getting out of it (still a few birds left) and moving towards the Gouldians after my daughter gave me one lonely boy for Christmas last year. He needed a friend (or two or ...) and so my obsession began.
To answer Finchbreeder’s question they are all in a 3x3 metre aviary atm as I have only just acquired most of them as a local breeder was selling out very cheaply. I can now see what my upcoming holidays will involve ... either extending my current aviary, building a new one or buying a ready made one. Happy days ahead.

Depending on what you want to achieve. You may want to consider building 3x1 avairys off your existing avairy. This would allow you to put different types of Gouldians in different avairys. A simplified selection method compared with budgie breeding in breeding rooms, but giving you choices.
