Welcome to the forum. Love the handle. Only one last remaining Diamond Dove in my collection now. Used to have more but finches well and truly took over. Zebs as Cathy says, are the most adaptable of finches when it comes to bigger birds in the shared avairy. Bengos come a close second. Enjoy.

CathyCraftz wrote: 10 Jun 2018, 22:18 Hi and welcome to the forum, Peter! I am quite experienced with zebra finches, if you are a beginner finch keeper start with those first as they are very hardy and breed easily for you. As long as you have enough room, the two species will get along fine under one roof. Have a look at the separate forums before you post anything as your question might have been already covered.
Have a nice winter with your birds!

Thank you and good idea Cathy
Zebra finches also don't need a complex diet. Quality finch seed, water and cuttlebone for calcium can do. You can also give them some treats like apple and spinach at least once every week.
Have a nice day!
Sincerely, Cathy

Hi Peter & Welcome to the Forum.

My Cape & Talpacoti Doves get on well with my finches.
Also had Diamond & Zebra Doves with finches too.

Hi Peter,
Welcome to the AFF.
Zebra finches are very resilient, and would mix well with other large birds.

Java finches would be a good option to consider too.
