Hi Rodney, welcome to the forum. There's a lot of very experienced people on this forum who will surely be able to answer any genetics question you can throw at them :)

i do have gouldians, and have been ok finding info on there genetics....my problem is differant combinations of diamond firetails
. i know that putting a fawn hen with a normal cock ...= fawn hens and normal cocks...? are the cocks split ?.
also putting pieds to normals.......or pieds to fawn ? would like to find out all of these and any other combinations of these birds
thank you for your interest,as i have been keen on breeding diamonds for about 20 yrs but sellers have been selling me cock birds only
so as you can see i have been getting no where, but with dna sexing i hope to change [before i run out of time...ha,ha.]...rodney.

Hi Rod, Fawn diamonds are not really fawns they are cinnamon although there are some fawns about but no where as common. Putting a cinnamon hen to a normal cock will produce split cocks and all normal hens as you can't get a split hen in cinnamon as it is a sex linked recessive mutation.
Best to start a new topic say in mutations for better more precise explanation of the other mutations. Craig
