HI I am jim 54 years old and live in Edinburgh Scotland , i am currently keeping Gouldian, hecks, parsons, stars and cherries.I have 2 planted aviaries attached to my 8ft by 8ft bird shed, ,

Welcome to the forum. I believe it has been pretty warm in your half of the world recently. Warm enough to have the birds outside almost all the time like we do here in Oz.

I would love to see some photos of your setup one day. It's so interesting seeing how European breeders incorporate cold-weather protection into their aviary designs.

Currently 14 degress but was up at 30 in july ,not use to it ,birds enjoyed it .putting up plastic sheets as a wind break from the westerly winds ,this weekend .was at a bird sale on sunday at carlisle on the English border,sold bullfinches and goldfinches to give more room for aussie grassfinchesâ˜ș

It was only 5 - 19 degrees here yesterday and scheduled to be 9 - 20 today, so not too big a temperature difference at the moment. But you can keep your winters, as I tell my sister who lives in Outer Alton. (near Wimbledon)
