I have a baby fallen from the nest and ‘rescued’ by a kindergarten. I believe it may be a goldfinch, but it is very young.

Welcome to the Forum. If it is a Goldfinch maybe one of the Kindy parents have canarys with chicks that can foster it? They are similar enough for the job.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I am concerned if there are gold finches living in Australia. Possibly a honey eater. Can you post a picture of it?

If it's a honey eater or native bird, most vets have a list of people that take in and care for orphan birds and you can take the bird to them.

There are many feral goldfinches in Australia. But yes, a photo would be helpful to be 100% sure.
