Hi all, I bought two male Gouldian finches and they started loosing feathers. That's how I ended up joining this forum looking for some advice. Can't wait to read about everyones experiences ☺

Hi and Welcome to the Forum. Gouldians moult out from now to Xmas time so it is normal for them to lose their feathers. They will look very scruffy but the new feathers will make them look fantastic in a month or so. After the moult they will come into breeding condition. Craig

Hello, welcome to the forum.

As Craig has already said, this is the time of the year when Gouldians will replace all of their feathers.

Thank you, I would be very relieved if it is just molting. Would start a new threat under the right heading about my remaining concerns. So excited, bought some nests for them, hope it would be up to their liking, since they are already picky  they are not touching any of the healthy food.

Have you purchased birds of both sexs? Or just the males you mentioned? Experiment with different seeding grasses, they will work out which they want.
