Hi everyone. I have been keeping birds for about 2 years now.
I have successfully breed Gouldians - blue to split to blue (one of the offspring is an aberation female with a pure white chest)
And have not successfully breed the emblems which are in the same aviary. The poor things have tried 3 times now.
After the emblemas sat in the nest for 3 or 4 weeks I noticed they were both out today , then I saw some Gouldian s checking inside the nest so I had a peep - and it looks like nothing is there! Where did the babies go?
Thanks for your time. Mel

Welcome to the forum. White chest is just a mutation in Blue Gouldians, nothing wrong with it. How many pairs of finches do you have in the avairy? And how big is it? Gouldians will dominate Painteds (emblemas) in some cases, so extra important to have more nests than hen finches.

Hi I only have a small hexagonal aviary, with one pair of Gouldians and one pair of the painteds.
But also in the aviary is about 10 baby gouldians. Which i need to sell. It is these offspring that are checking out
the painteds' nest. Thanks, Mel.
