Hi everyone. My name is Pam and I am a beginner with Finches so thought I would join the forum to learn as much as I can from others. I currently have 4 Gouldians in a small outdoor aviary as well as 2 large flight cages indoors with Orange Breasted and Blue face parrot finches.

Welcome to the forum. I am surprised that you have the Gouldians outdoors and the Orange Breasteds and Parrott Finches indoors. I think I would have done it the other way round. But you know your environment and I do not.

Thank you for the welcome. When I said the Gouldians were outdoors I should have added that they are under the patio roof and are much happier in the small aviary than in the flight cages. When in the flight cages they did nothing but sit all day but now are flapping around from perch to perch all day long.

I have only ever seen Orange Breasteds and Parrott finches in avairys. While Gouldians do also do best in avairys they seem to cope better in flights that either of the other 2. How big is the avairy?
