Hello!

Hi Diane,

My name is Sakul from Bangkok. I have Gauldian Finch for 6 months now. I am interested in breeding them. As I search through the internet, I found

http://www.finchbreederdatabase.com/php ... /2&count=1

And I am very much interested. But I need further explanation of how to use it. I would like to know what -AY means on the last line of the checked box below on the form.

Please kindly educate me. Thank you so much and I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
Sakul

Sakul,

On Diane’s behalf,
The owner of Finch Breeder Database, with the assistances of Diane developed the Finch Breeder Database Genetic Forecaster.
It is relatively straight forward to use entering the genetic make up of the parent birds and submitting via the “count genotypes” or “count phenotypes” option.
If you are not familiar with Gouldian finch genetics it may take some further reading to understand how each column contributes to the parent bird makeup.

AY in the bottom row refers to a mutation known as Australian Yellow.

The owner of this software can be found and contacted from the bottom of the Genetic Forecast web page.

To put it simply you will always put no to AY as it does not exist outside Australia.
Enjoy your finches.

Dear both,

Greetings from Thailand!

Thank you for your explanation.

Yes there is no AY in Thailand. Now I use the calculation beautifully.

Please keep well and stay healthy!!!

Kind regards

Sakuk
