In one of my aviaries I have been getting alot of dry, thin crispy infertile eggs. This aviary is exposed to more sunshine and heat than my other two and I was wondering if heat could be affecting the eggs. A couple of nests are exposed to direct sunlight and it has been pretty hot lately. I was going to provide more shade for these sites. My other two aviaries that have far more shade have been cranking out chicks regularly, but this aviary has basically stopped producing.

Probably correct in your analysis with current Perth heat. A "caravan" top over the aviary works. You can use shade cloth stretched on a frame. I use fine sprays on the roof and that is working well. Have not lost any babies in nests with good nests of 5 and 7 this year. Today was over 37c here.
