Colony breeding Ruddies

I have a large heavily planted aviary about 6x7m and I want to colony breed Ruddies. What are the limitations on numbers for this particular species. Do they become territorial and aggressive during breeding season.

I have not done this. But am aware of a couple of guys in different locations who are. Both have planted avairies that are the same size or smaller than what you are proposing. Both have been very successful for several years. Numbers I do not know, but lightly populated, so probably 10/14 birds.

I had about 4 pairs of ruddies at the start of Covid Lockdowns in 2020, they were in an avairy of a similar number of gouldians and orange breasts.
I now have a small flock of about 20 pairs of ruddies!!!

They nested in tube nests, gouldian nest boxes, brush - you name it!!!

Congratulations to you and the birds.
