Hi all, one of my younger stars has lost its rump feathers and is rather red in that area. I haven't seen any birds picking at it. It has been in my indoor holding aviary for about 2 months, where it gets indirect sunlight morning/afternoon (I have a false raised roof to let air/light in but not direct sun). Others have been in the same aviary for the same amount of time and going well. They are fed dry finch mix, soaked seed, greens and mealworms every day, and have eggshell, cuttlefish and crushed shellgrit too. Any ideas why, and how to treat?
Thanks

Actually, looking more closely at some of the others, some seem to be a bit fluffy in patches - do star finches moult? If so, is it moulting time?

All birds moult, but not in winter.
